Sculpture process for "Dancing Forever" by Carol Shireena Sakai

(please see comments under each image)

The bride figure is added
with the clay covering the
metal skeleton (armature).
The bride dress is blurred
so that it cannot be seen
(Eric asked not to see the dress)
The "feeling" to capture is
movement - which is
always hard to do with
a solid sculpture.
The "feeling" for
the sculptural piece
often comes from the folds
of the fabric - folds are
laid in, recreating the
natural drape of the
body in motion.
Details of the
tuxedo are laid in roughly.
Each form will be refined
more and more as the
sculpture takes shape.
