| Carol S. Sakai offers yoga, Tai Chi & meditation classes as well as yoga therapy for all ages and physical conditions in the Northern VA, Falls Church & McLean area. She has specialized training in assisting those with special needs. Yoga and Tai Chi can increase your concentration/coordination, optimize your breathing patterns and enhance/maintain flexibility and strength. Accomodation are made for those with physical limitations or injuries.
Carol Sakai has a diverse backfround: Ph.D. in Medical Physiology from the University of Maryland School of Medicine. She is certified and has training in Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy and Yoga for the Special Child (TM). She is a yoga therapist and consultant to of the Center for Integrative Medicine in Bethesda, Maryland (a subvision of Suburban Hospital). She is a certified Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapist with training in Tai Chi, Qigong, dance/ movement modalities as well as Vipassana Buddhist meditation. She has a graduate certificate in Qigong studying under the guidance of Master Ma Li Tang in the Fragrant Hills of Beijing, China. Carol is especially sensitive to the needs of the special child since she was dyslexic as a child and grew up with a learning disabled sister. From her varied experiences she brings committment, compassion & skill to those with special needs.
